Melissa Bain (born in Whitehorse, Yukon, Canada) is an emerging contemporary artist that currently resides in Prince George, British Columbia.
She is mainly self-taught in the Arts and creates with a dionysian nature; displaying creative, intuitive power in a unique and colorful illustrative-style. Inspired by the works of Chagall, Pablo Picasso and German Expressionist painter Max Beckmann, Melissa paints in various medias (oil, acrylic & inks) to create figurative, abstract-expressionist paintings, portraits and unique abstract landscape painting on canvas.
Melissa has exhibited her artwork in various Canadian galleries, private shows and retail businesses. Her artwork can be found in private collections in Canada and the United States. Melissa has also licensed her painted imagery to various corporations and giftware companies, which has allowed for international distribution and recognition of her work.
For the past several years, Melissa has also maintained an active role as the Creative Director for one of Canada's leading Internet Marketing firms.
